He says, he says

Marty Rathbun says:

“One of the essences of Reverse Scientology as practiced in the Radical Corporate organization is to indoctrinate through the CULTure there that life is not a game. No, they are taught that life is a deadly serious activity.”

L. Ron Hubbard says:

“We’re not playing some minor game in Scientology. It isn’t cute or something to do for lack of something better.

“The whole agonized future of this planet, every Man, Woman and Child on it, and your own destiny for the next endless trillions of years depend on what you do here and now with and in Scientology.

“This is a deadly serious activity.”

— L. Ron Hubbard, HCO PL 7 February 1965, KEEPING SCIENTOLOGY WORKING

The lie: David Miscavige has turned Scientology away from L. Ron Hubbard’s original intentions.

The truth: The Church of Scientology, for all its evils, horrors and abuses, is being run pretty much as founder L. Ron Hubbard intended.

  1. I get the feeling that maybe, just maybe, Mahty is beginning to try to pick out the less-abhorrent parts of Scn as what he practices, and by touting those parts he still propagates an image of a benevolent Hubbard… If I cared enough, I would go back and see how his postings have changed in this regard, but MAYBE he is trying something like:
    1) Post positive tech passages, attribute to Hubbabubba
    2) Point out negative parts in current practice by DM, but omit that Hubbabubba wrote them
    3) Try not to claim that such policies were created by DM unless absolutely true.

This way Mahty technically isn’t lying, he’s just saying “the CoS does this awful thing under DM’s orders! LRH wrote !” I have to wonder though…is he actually trying to weed out and downplay the terrible parts and recreate a Scn fellowship based purely on positive tech without the organizational mandates (since it seems like the bulk of the terrible stuff was born from and tied to an actual institution of Scn and not just the belief system)… it is he faking the whole thing, and would be just as ready as DM to RPF someone for reading a website?

It seems like he has either gotten wiser about pointing blame, or maybe (doubtful) he recognizes that LRH wrote some pretty shitty stuff and wants the Indy SCeNe to remove those parts…

I think he’s always done this. And you make some good points in the rest of your comment, Mafiawog. I’m going to address them in my next blog entry.

  2. Don’t forget, “The finest organizations in the world have been tough, dedicated organizations. Not one namby-pamby bunch of of pantywaist dilletantes have ever made anything.”

The funny thing is, all of Marty’s followers are very familiar with KSW and many probably swear by it.

  3. MafiaWog>”I get the feeling that maybe, just maybe, Mahty is beginning to try to pick out the less-abhorrent parts of Scn as what he practices, and by touting those parts he still propagates an image of a benevolent Hubbard”

Through shortage of Hubbard having an even keel, finding ‘Huddha Guru’ style quotes is difficult, thats why Marty resorts to Martin Luther King.

  4. I also have problem with deleting my posts on Marty s blog…
I know this sounds crazy, but if you think about also “Snow White” was crazy in it s own time…so this is what I think….
D.M. and RTC sow that something is going wrong, and they have to do something-that people are leaving and ,there is less and less money coming to church… So they send MR and MR to pick up those FZ and ones who left, and tell them that DM is CRAZY,cause changing LRH ….they make that “war” for few years, then DM change back all of it, back to LRH (which you can read on” keep scientology working blog by POT”,that DM- start to do that),and after it is done-they make “peace”and MR bring those “FZ,indies, out of cult”-back in to a cult…. Those “SB production” ,I think is just DM insurance to “know” what is MR doing and maybe little bit -to look real… and after 10 years we will read about that on net… maybe instead “snow white”, its name will be “squirrel busting”….
I just don’t trust Marty R,and Mike R, it is all so silly-there is not SINGLE law suit-which I found very strange…
P.S. just find your blog, and I like it very much. I am sorry that I didn’t save my posts on MR blog.
    Big hello from Croatia.

    • Koki, it’s a good point, but I honestly don’t think this is some grand scheme. Assuming DM is an LRH devotee, they’re going to follow policy *exactly* to the letter. And LRH never planned for this sort of thing. He never planned for folloewrs to be anything but happy with the tech, and when you are not happy, he ensured that you got kicked the hell out.

It’s a totally plausible idea. It makes complete sense. But I don’t think that’s what’s going on. You can’t understand what a looking-glass world Scientology is until you live with it.

This has caused many of us to scratch our heads…

  6. It’s like before Marty left, he made a deal with Cwazy widdle Davy, “You let me start a little offshoot, I will make a little money, and we will keep track of all the disaffected folks, and have them close at hand”. Marty hasn’t received even one fourth of the abuse that HE dealt to others, either he is in cahoots with DM or HE was the one who dealt so severely with others.
    Makes you think, either way.

  7. …Not sure where this observation really belongs, as it is not a direct response to this particular topic, Caliwog, but I just noticed that ESMB has really come a long way. There’s a lot of really insightful, intelligent people there, who are talking about what it’s like for a former member of a thought reform group to take steps in the direction of creating a new life for themselves. – out of the “war” between the Indies / Corporate Scn / Anon / Whatever, and onto and forward on their own respective paths and healing from the suffering they’ve endured. The ESMB section titled “Life After Scientology” is pretty nice. For reasons I cannot exactly put into words at this particular moment, that gave me hope. 🙂
