Mosey: Let’s talk about KSW

I’d like to discuss something Marty said in his rebuttal to Tony Ortega’s article on LRH, specifically on the interpretation of Keeping Scientology Working. Marty sez:

b. Your [Tony’s] repeated references to and quotes on the Hubbard Policy Letter Keeping Scientology Working:

In context, again as I explained to you, outside the culture of the church that policy letter, Keeping Scientology Working, means ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” That was the meaning my wife summed up as gleaning from it…But, apparently her view doesn’t count, not when it might slow down a witch burning of L Ron Hubbard.

Actually, KSW goes way beyond that. Allow me to quote the meat of KSW:

Getting the correct technology applied consists of:

One: Having the correct technology.

Two: Knowing the technology.

Three: Knowing it is correct.

Four: Teaching correctly the correct technology.

Five: Applying the technology.

Six: Seeing that the technology is correctly applied.

Seven: Hammering out of existence incorrect technology.

Eight: Knocking out incorrect applications.

Nine: Closing the door on any possibility of incorrect technology.

Ten: Closing the door on incorrect application.

— L. Ron Hubbard, HCO PL 7 February 1965, KEEPING SCIENTOLOGY WORKING

See, Mosey, there’s more there than just “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Hubbard is saying that once you identify what the correct technology is, you must know it and know that it is right. Furthermore, you must hammer out of existence incorrect technology. In other words, you must completely eliminate ANY other philosophy.

This is part of black-and-white viewpoint that is inherent in Scientology. There is only one way to skin a cat, and that’s Hubbard’s way. Any other cat-skinning methods are invalid and you must completely eliminate them from your thinking. If you are a Scientologist, only Hubbard’s way is valid.

If what Hubbard meant was “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” then KSW would say that if you found something that works, then it’s fine.

But KSW doesn’t say that. What KSW says is, “If it ain’t broke, but it also ain’t Hubbard’s ‘correct technology,’ then get the fuck rid of it.”

KSW goes on to say that Hubbard has never had any useful suggestions from anyone; that only his technology, and his alone, has proven workable:

“I once had the idea that a group could evolve truth. A third of a century has thoroughly disabused me of that idea…

“…there have been thousands and thousands of suggestions and writings which, if accepted and acted upon, would have resulted in the complete destruction of all our work…

“True, if the group had not supported me in many ways I could not have discovered [The Tech] either. But it remains that if in its formative stages it was not discovered by a group, then group efforts, one can safely assume, will not add to it or successfully alter it in the future…

“…the group left to its own devices would not have evolved Scientology but with wild dramatization of the bank called ‘new ideas’ would have wiped it out.”

— LRH, ibid.

Get that, Mosey? No useful suggestions have come from the group. And you know who that group is, Mosey? It’s YOU. You, Marty, his customers, Mike Rinder, David Miscavige, and all those corporate Scientologists. That’s the group he’s talking about. LRH has just told you that, aside from your money, nothing you have supplied has been very useful, and in fact has been rather destructive.

And you interpret this as “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”? I interpret it as “My way is the only way, and your way is useless. So don’t even bother trying.”

Now, I know LRH tagged KSW with a page or so of his hard-to-understand babble. (Although it does contain the famous sentence “We’d rather have you dead than incapable.”) So I’ll tell you what: Go back and re-study just the beginning, the parts where he talks about only accepting Hubbard’s way of doing things and the fact that Hubbard and Hubbard alone developed the only workable technology mankind has ever known. (Look at the life you and Marty are leading, Mosey. Is this really workable technology?)

You’re a smart, sensible woman, Mosey. I admire you for the way you addressed the Squirrel Busters when your husband (understandably) couldn’t keep his temper in check. Marty says you’ve never been a Scientologist, so clearly, whatever philosophy you have has been working.

Does a woman like you really need L. Ron Hubbard to tell her how to run her life?

I, for one, do believe that if it ain’t broke, you shouldn’t fix it. And I hope you never change, Mosey. I hope you stay exactly as you are, and don’t turn into what L. Ron Hubbard wants you to be.

  1. I’d say KSW more of less means, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.*”

    * Note: L Ron Hubbard technology is inherently never broken. Moreover, any other approaches towards improving your mental, physical or spiritual well being are definitely broken.

  2. How about. ” Then entire agonized future for every man woman and child for the next trillion years depends on what you do here and now in scientology”. Something like that. I believe that is part of KSW too.

  3. It is sometimes hard to write badly about Scientology. I see it every day – pipe-dreams “the Ice man becomith”, or of sorts.

Human mind – giving you the ability to ponder when you are not fighting to survive.

I remember the time when I knew it was a false hope, Scientology. A dread sort of flowed overcame like raindrops from a gutter on a very cold day.

My first time was when I was in the Sea Org, I was at my desk in CMO IXU.

If felt weird the following day hearing the orders being screamed from the D C/O to me. I followed the orders not because I believed in them, but because so many people around me did.

I truly feel sorry for them. It is one thing to have a pipedream, it is another to have one you know when you can stop, breath and think – that will never come true.

Everyone in the movement has been robbed of this – and to find another pipe-dream (some call it being normal) is still, just a pipedream.

Ever heard of those who wished they had never been woken up?

Beware who you awake, beware who you tell “truth” to.

Be careful, for you tread of my dreams – as one man once said.

I think of DM in a room, and the words from a track come to mind:

And the general he sat, as the lines on his map, moved from side to side.

We are talking about people. Not lines. Not objects.

Marty, stop promising the world. And start finding your own.

  4. Caliwog,
    All of them.

  5. Now Marty is bawwwing about OSA obtaining his phone records, FBI won’t do anything, BawwBawwBaww. Could it be Marty that the Feds don’t consider you a competent witness? Just telling someone ‘they did it from the computer in room 308’ is meaningless. His lack of a real Wog education shows through. Entertaining, nonetheless.

  6. Marty’s latest post is pretty impressive. “I don’t censor my blog, I just delete posts from OSA and SPs”.

  7. Everyone who posts here know better! He has called me OSA, and even DM, and I have never set foot in a cult building! He deletes posts from me at least once a week, all I want to know is when he is going to come clean about his own evil doings. Things like in his blog he posts that he knows how the $cilons are getting his travel info and phone call info, BUT HOW DOES HE KNOW? BECAUSE HE DID THE EXACT SAME THING ON THE EXACT SAME EQUIPMENT! Come clean Marty!

  8. KSW does go way beyond IIABDFI when it makes violation a suppressive act. If Marty can MAKE KSW mean just IIABDFI, no more, no less, I say go for it. And before you say he can’t, think about what Christians have made the Bible mean. Most of them don’t even execute people for being witches or gay anymore.

I don’t like or support Hubbard or his “technology,” but other people do. I would much rather see them aligned with and supporting Marty than aligned with and supporting the fascist COS.

    • Why should anyone even have to choose Only between facist Marty or “facist COS”.
I would rather people just think for themselves.

      • “Why should anyone even have to choose Only [sic] between facist [sic] Marty or ‘facist [sic] COS’.”

I didn’t call Marty fascist, and I didn’t say anything about limiting anyone’s choices. Other than that, great question.

“I would rather people just think for themselves.”

So would I, Homo, but you can’t always get what you want. (If you try, sometimes you get what you need.)

  9. Ever noticed the only people that preach Scientology all seem to get paid to do so?

Marty can sit there all day and rant – as he does – while people actually pay him to do just that.

He is paid to talk up Scientology.

I have to laugh about that sometimes. No one pays anyone to speak against it – and eventually the voices thrusting it drown out the other voices.

It’s hard to beat a crew that are paid to sit there, day in and day out to thrust Scientology down their throats.

    Good on you Marty!

  10. You know, the other strange thing about MArty is that he is always giving his opinion on what LRH policies meant.

If LRH were alive and heard Marty doing this, he would declare him a Suppressive Person.

It IS VERBAL TECH and Alter is. Rather than argue, he should point people to the policy and leave it at that. In the Sea Org, if anyone wrote another SO member or Scientologist and told him what LRH meant in a policy – Marty delcared them suppressive if they did not get cramming and their MUs cleared up.

But here we have Marty actually doing the very things that he was declared for – verbal tech, alter is and squirreling.

Either way you look at it, Marty is factually a squirrel and was correctly declared an SP by the Church exactly as per LRH policies.

I have no doubt it Ron was alive, he would personally declare Marty an SP. He would declare DM also – but that aside, there is no doubt that MArty is just the type of guy LRH didn’t want.

This is why the old tech greats of Scientology were ALL declared while under LRHs dictatorship – the Loooooong history of the number ones LRH had from 1955 through to 1980 all got declared – every last one of them.

Marty’s crime is he started thinking for himself and judging the tech for himself – there is literally no worse crime in Scientology.

Marty’s followers can jump up and down all they want, but if they step back and look at what Marty is doing with the tech – he IS in serious violation of KSW and must be declared.

    DM got it right.

And Marty hates that very much.

  11. Gotta love the latest our of australia about the Freewinds being used as a prision.

In CMO IXU, that is where the security trash was sent – like Marty, Don Johnson, Andrew Stevens and a few others I could name.

After they are declared, they like to preach “we were sent there because it was the finest tech in the world, and it was a gift from DM at salvation”

Which is bullshit. FSSO has some of the worst Course Room stats – lower than general AOs and the only exception is OT VIII – which of course is done by yourself for $300,000.

FSO was the place real tech (throw-up) was delivered.

They were put on the ship because generally, it was impossible for them to Blow.

Armed guards at the gang plank, and when you are out at sea, you aren’t exactly going to run away under the guise of darkness.

FSSO a prison ship? NO! Say it ain’t so!

But go ahead Marty, tell us all that you yourself didn’t enjoy the fun of cleaning the engine room.

When I toured the ship, I knew darn well how a 300 foot ship had such a clean engine room – and it wasn’t because of the engineers…

I mean, how many Churches buy boiler suits that fit kids more than they do adults?

It is all there in the invoices – lots of kiddy sized Boiler suits.

  12. p.s. also a good place to keep people so they could not get subpoenas about the IRS tax cases and other cases, too!

  13. LRH always said you could judge a Scientology Org from its surroundings:
    stats of the great bases:

    LA & Clearwater:

    Stat One:
Clearwater/St. Petersburg was recently surveyed to be the most unhappy city in the entire country.
    Stat Number Two:
Scientology anti-drug stance…yet Florida releases 89% of all the countries prescription drugs and is responsible for the number one killer in america: Prescription drug overdose.

    Stat One:
Greatest importer of illegal narcotics in the US
    Stat Two:
State where they grow marijuana legally – anti-Scn stance.
    Stat Three:
One of the greatest hell-holes in america.
    Stat Four Massive public debt.

    Scientology Works!
