Two sides, one story

Today I want to send you over to an (apparently Church-backed) anti-Marty site called Marty Rathbun Blog, specifically to a blog entry entitled Marty Rathbun turns his clients into religious haters.

Now, I’m sure some Indies will see this as proof that I am aligned with the Church; after all, I am forwarding an enemy line. That’s not it at all. No, I want you to read this blog entry and see how similar the language is to what you read on Marty Rathbun’s site.

Substitute the word “squirrel” with “OSA agent,” substitute “Marty Rathbun” with “David Miscavige,” and it’s largely the same rhetoric. Both sides are accusing the other of mis-applying Scientology with the end result of preventing people from achieving salvation. And both label all people who disagrees with LRH (like me) as “haters”.

Read the comments, and you’ll see very similar language there, too.

Why are they so similar? Because their viewpoint comes from the exact same place: The writings and teachings of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.

How are we supposed to believe that Independent Scientology will be any different than what the Church does now?

Let’s say David Miscavige was somehow toppled and someone else took over, someone who believes strongly in LRH. I’m sure – at least, I would hope – that the pysical beatings would stop, as would the rampant SP declares, and maybe even the incessant demands for money. (But the latter wouldn’t stop for long. Remember, LRH’s rules of management by statistics demanded ever-increasing stats.)

Surely the changes would seem significant to those inside – but to those on the outside, things wouldn’t really change all that much. Those who begged to differ with the Church’s direction would still be branded as squirrels, and those who disagreed with LRH would still be labeled as “Scientology haters” or “religious bigots”.

And the practice of Scientology would still be just as dangerous.

There are people, both Scientologists and non-Scientologists, calling for a kinder, gentler Scientology. But to make that happen, one must partially reject the teachings of L. Ron Hubbard, something LRH himself said was a big no-no.

Will realy change come to Scientology? Can real change come to Scientology? Maybe – but it isn’t going to come from anyone who believes in “pure LRH tech.”

  1. You are quite correct, for me when it comes to Marty and DM there ain’t spit difference between them. They are both a ‘product of their environment’.

  2. I would say ”they are both product of Ron’s thinking about ”ennemies” and his reflected policies within scientology!

You pointed exactly the GO and following ”OSA” mentality – what is the policies on how to drive ”SP’S” and the ”dead agent” robotic learn into scientology.

When you are called ”OSA” it’s coming from the same education – dead agent.

It is also the main cause – imho – of the difficulty fro ex-scientologist to stay friends – respect their opinions and the disagreement about the tech or lrh – the culture within the environment is that anybody that speaks a critics about lrh is a criminal as he hide crimes – everybody that tell a disagreement about the tech is a criminal as he mistused it or doesn’t want human to be free….

An ex-scientologist – who have been long within scientology and especially in SO and holdin an high executive post – as RTC – OSA – Ethics etc.. has to be out for long time and really work hard to settle back his mind to a point he can look a new way at thing – without having Ron’s evaluation within is mind..really ..it takes a lot of work to deconstruct lies and contradictions and then get back your own-determinism.

Imagine you are raised within Jehovah witnesses – and then, 30 years later you leave – you still have a Jehovah withness way of thinking and a pair of glasses to look through the world around that has been made ”wrong” and ”bad” – you have to put aside these glasses ang get new ones.

Fisrt you can not discuss with the person – then- later on – few years later – it’s different..it changes for the best – or worst..
RTC and OSA guys have always be in the business of War with Sp’S …
so…….. one side or the other ..you have a war…

The position the held (what they know and hold) makes it also impossible to be left alone – being under the lights and in media (in a pseudo war soap opera) can assure they wont be taken as a target ..this is what is always done with Amnesty international – bring under the constant lights of the media to ensure a sort of security!

Ithink that one good strategy to arrange both sides is to dead agent – black pr each other – but nothing wort than that! ;D

There are just viewpoints and can be wrong.

  3. Funny, Anonymous even crosses over that line too sometimes. Everybody sounds JUST LIKE THIS LITTLE BEING HERE:

“I’m a ____group___. And I’m proud to be a ____group___And as a ____group___ I’ve seen some good times and I’ve seen some bad times.”

“THESE my friends. THESE are the WORST of times.

An evil, black angle shaped cloud hovers above us. It is filled with the acid rain of ____group___hatred. It’s thunder is the maniacal laughter of those that find ____group___ death Amusing. It’s lightning strikes our trapped and helpless warriors with LETHAL DEMON MICROWAVES. MY people, OUR people are systematically being lead to slaughter by a false idol fondling child worshipping heathen devil pagan. His name is ___enemy’s nam____!

    ________group______ GENOCIDE IS HIS INTENTION!

Up until now our response has been: “Bite me,” “Whose your daddy?”

People this is a sick pathetic sadistic MADMAN!

“Name calling … don’t do nothin.”

“I for one am tired of talking.”

“I for one am going to let my PIECE DO MY TALKIN. I FOR ONE AM GONNA BUST A CAP IN _____enemy name_____’s ASS. DEEP DOWN INSIDE OF YOU YOU KNOW FULL WELL THAT THIS IS OUR ONLY RESORT. WE HAVE A RIGHT IN THIS COUNTRY TO DEFEND OURSELVES FROM TYRANNY. I’M GONNA BUST A CAP IN HIS ASS!”

    “YEAH! WHO’S WITH ME?!”

  4. Most of the people on Marty’s blog are still scientologists, be they in or out. Sorry to say, but I have found that scientologists tend to evoke a self-righteous, holier than thou attitude combined with an inability to think freely for oneself in an ongoing new unit of time.

The claws come out way too fast, though IMO claws are rarely necessary at all.

  5. catfish………
You are absolutely correct sir…and if you look closely at the comments of each blog post by marty you will notice that there is really only a handful, okay lets say no more than a dozen and a half ( just a cursory count) of marty’s closest and loyal followers. Post after post the same folks. Now you might say that is no different than the commenters on Caliwog’s blog, and you would be correct. However there is a gigantic fundamental difference between the two blogs that cannot be ignored. The group of scientologists over at marty’s blog ARE scientologists and the group at caliwog’s blog ARE NOT!!

yes, simple, but it clarifies pretty much everything on the subject.
    IMHO at least.
