The ABCs of the RPF

I’m back from my break, and I’d like to jump right into a topic that should irk both independent Scientologists and Church loyalists equally: the origin of the Rehabilitation Project Force, or RPF.

For the two or three of you who haven’t heard of the RPF, it’s basically Scientology’s in-house prison camp, where Sea Organization members (those folks who sign billion-year contracts) who can’t get with the program are sent to do menial labor for little food, little pay, and little freedom.

Independent Scientologists frequently rail on Church leader David Miscavige for the RPF and its appalling denial of freedom, and rightfully so. But there’s one wee little detail they always seem to leave out. Can you guess what it is? Yup, you’re right:

The Rehabilitation Project Force was started by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.

It’s all in a 1974 policy known as Flag Order 3434, which established the RPF for “R/Sers, low OCA non producers, repeated stat crashers, Overt Product makers”*.

* (Some definitions: R/Sers are Rock Slammers, those who get a violent motion of the E-Meter needle that indicates a suppressive person teeming with evil intentions. OCA is the Oxford Capacity Analysis, the misleadingly-named (it was written by the Church, not Oxford University) personality test that the Church still gives to this day. A stat crasher is one who generates poor statistics, the measure by which every Church staffer’s performance is measured. Finally, an Overt Product maker is one who does not get the desired end results in their job.)

Hubbard’s 1974 RPF Flag Order dictates who gets sent to the RPF, what duties they can and cannot perform, their schedule (“around 7 hours sleep, 5 hours study or auditing, 30 minutes for each meal, 30 minutes personal hygiene”), when they can be released, even what they wear (“a BLACK boiler suit, or ethnically acceptable cleaning outfit in very dark blue”). To give you some idea of how demeaning the RPF was meant to be, LRH said that RPF inmates could do “painting requiring no extra skill,” but could NOT do “any fine paint, carpets, woodwork, plaster, wallpaper, varnish or window replacement work.”

FO3434 also listed the RPFers rights and restrictions. Among the latter:

  • “Has no liberties.
  • “Is restricted to FH [Fort Harrison Hotel] at all times except when on authorized work cycles in other Flag buildings. Any travel between buildings is accompanied by a Security Guard. [emphasis added]
  • “Receives 1/4 pay until released, then 1/2 pay*.
  • “May not speak to or approach Flag staff or public… unless spoken to.
  • “Some contact with a spouse or child is permitted during the RPFer’s meal time…once daily if the RPFer is upstat. [emphasis added]
  • “May not have with them in the RPF ANY drugs or alcoholic beverages, radios, TV, taped music, musical instruments, chess games, or any such entertainment or luxury, or consume such when on authorized visits to spouse or child.” [emphasis in original]

* (Remember, LRH bragged about how little Sea Org members were paid.)

Later, after LRH dropped dead his body, Church management expanded his original policy into a series of thirty-plus policies known as the RPF Series Flag Orders, allegedly culled from “a meticulous search through all LRH writings and Church policy on the subject of the RPF”. I don’t want to be accused of defending David Miscavige, so let me be perfectly clear: The RPF got even worse under the reign of DM and his management team (which, let’s not forget, included Marty Rathbun and Mike Rinder).

Regardless, while the LRH apologists may try to blame the severity of the RPF on David Miscavige, no amount of lying or backpedaling can cover up Hubbard’s original intent for the RPF: To “straighten out” wayward Scientologists by taking away their liberties, restricting their time with their loved ones, and having them perform menial labor at sub-legal wages. LRH even came up with the bit about having RPFers under constant watch so they couldn’t escape.

And that brings me to another Caliwog Cash Offer™. I will send $5 in cash to the first Independent Scientologist who can explain to me how LRH’s vision of the RPF is any more honorable, legal or humane than the RPF as it exists under David Miscavige. Post it in a comment or email me at caliwog-at-hotmail-dot-com and I’ll post it for you. Remember, no comments on this blog are censored, so if you don’t see an answer, kids, that’s because there isn’t one. The RPF is evil and immoral, and could only come from an evil and immoral person: L. Ron Hubbard.

    Thanks for this Caliwog.

Many of the recent departures from the cult have been collaborators and abusers within Hubbard’s brutal regime. Several now seek to salve their consciences by deflecting their own responsibility, and Hubbard’s to Miscavige.

I quit because I refused to tolerate abuse. I had the personal values and integrity to refuse to become a predator; I refused to become a scientology piranha like so many others. The ‘bridge to total freedom’ collapsed before my eyes the moment it destroyed the freedoms of others. I accepted responsibility – and as a result I have greater confidence and self-esteem in the knowledge that when it comes down to the wire, I am one of the 3 or 4 out of 10 who will stand up to bullies and say ‘this is not acceptable’. Scientology ‘ethics’ is dictatorial coercion, and is unrelated to the development of real ethical principles.

If they really desire to become truly ethical, the independents must come out of denial, accept Hubbard’s authorship of the brutal practices of scientology, and acknowledge and restitute their own part in enabling the abuse.

  2. Thanks Caliwog and bravo to you Michael for standing up…by walking away.

  3. One of the old timers can correct me if I am wrong, but I was told by one of them that LRH did not write FO 3434. It was explained to me that one of his Sea Org executives wrote it and sent it to him for approval and it was published under his name.

  4. We can forget about the BS of trying to write off the responsibility of the RPF to someone else who wrote it and got it signed off by Ron.

I have heard this line used many times about various policies. Let’s get one thing very straight, the RPF and the type of punishment that LRH dished out on the Ship was RIGHT THERE in front of him. It is fact that LRH would personally assign people to the RPF, including children in front of the musters for all to see. That is fact.

THE RPF started because LRH would assign children and people to the Bilge Pumps to do demeaning work, often without food or water for long periods of time.

What is wrong with independent Scientologists like Marty and Mike?

It is simple and very sad – they can no longer evaluate. that ability has been wiped. It was wiped by accepting a belief system that overrides any requirement to reason or question.

This DM stuff is wearing very thin. It was LRH that personally trained DM from a child. If anything sent DM insane, it was Scientology, just like it did Marty, Mike, Otto, Bill Robertson, Mayo and every other major exec that has ever left there.

The disharmony in Marty’s life, Mike’s, DM’s, LRH’s with their family “suicides” and deaths is just the tip of the iceberg.

Did you know LRH authorised his Messengers to be able to assign anyone to the RPF without a Committee of Evidence? That is how most get there – assigned by Messengers. Usually based on hate and anger.

To date, Marty has failed to do the most obvious thing – show us proof that DM altered anything. Not a shred of proof.

And if anyone wants to know the real reason Mike and Marty do not spill the real beans on DM, it is because they have huge crimes, too – that they have not admitted to that includes murder and abduction.

IF they spill the beans on DM about other activities, then they go down for it also. I would like to point out that Mike, nor Marty has given us the names of the operatives the Sea Org uses – I have met them, but do not know their names, and yet Marty and Mike have not even admitted that they even met these people at all.

After Marty screwed up BIG TIME in 93/94 & 95, DM never trusted Marty after that, he was always going to be a patsy that DM could later put stuff on. Because of this, Marty was always going to leave the SO and attack. DM and others knew this, so they made very sure he never got his nose into anything serious at all.

Greg Wilhere, Norman Starkey – these types KNOW stuff because they were trusted.

I truely love the independents how they can attack any critic for any error, any color of bad character in a critic and find that reason enough to say “they are liars and should not be trusted”, yet the greatest liar proven time and time again – LRH – is to be trusted.

The warped thinking is really deep brainwashing.

When these guys were sitting in auditing chairs, they thought they were recalling memories to find out more information. they had no idea that their Synaptic gulfs were being dumped by neural transmitters and that they were rewiring to new pathways to create new memories and augment the ones that they already had. The reason why every bad or good thing that happens to an independent in their mind is either Affinity, Reality or Communication is because their brains have been rewired to auto select these options.

    It is easy to do.

This same irrational computation is the same reason why they will not see LRH for what he was or Scientology. their brains have been rewired.

And the only way to deprogram a brain is to cause a crash in it. And they will not let that happen and will try to avoid Scientologists from letting that happen.

You see, if they were to admit LRH was wrong, that would tear down the entire structure of their thinking and their brain. It can have serious consequences.

Rather than find anything wrong, they will only find anything that validates Scientology.

Funnily enough, Marty’s viewpoint is exactly like LRHs to other technology of the mind. Which is exactly the same as DM’s and the Sea Orgs viewpoint of other technology.

For people who thinkt hey are so different, they are almost identical and will give identical answers to life’s “most important questions.”

Anon can save the newbies and get the front doors reduced to a slow flow. As for the ones in there, do not give them much hope, they are pretty much done like a dinner.

Of all the people that were ever in scientology, I only met but a handful that ever were capable of walking away from it and LRH.

Even Scientology’s biggest critics in Australia still sit there working out how they will go OT and working out how to find another path to eternal memory and life.

    They are the saddest people.

these “ex’s” are so unreliable because at the end of the day, they are suffering from “battered wife’s syndrome” and still sit there today with their little Scn books wondering about the true route to OT.

They never left Scientology thinking. They just walked away from the abuse. They never understood what really happened or why they were duped.

The ones worth saving are the ones that are about to walk in the door and get the wrong answers to life’s questions.

If you want to know the biggest lie in Scientology, it is that when you first walk in there, and for years to come, grown adults look straight at you and tell you bullshit like “Yes, I can go exterior when I want to” and “OT VIII’s took out the Berlin wall and were secretly auditing there when it happened” and other crap like “In 1992 Hurricane Andrew didn’t hit the FH hotel because we ‘willed it not to’.”

Grown adults lying straight at you telling you about all these abilities they do not even have. Children believe adults – and they fucking betray us with their weak minds and shitty dreams rather than reality.

Mike Rinder is getting money together to fight Scientology. He isn’t saving up money to get his kids through proper education when they finally get out of the SO.

Mike and Marty aren’t paying doctors to review people who have left the SO and Scientology to find out what damage the Purif or bad nutrition has done to them – they are saving up for an E-Meter.

Independents are gettign their kids to Clear and OT. Screw meeting people in other countries, expanding their minds or getting a degree.

Their thinking is completely warped and they have the wrong priorities.

Scientologists claim to have above normal intelligence – bullshit bullshit bullshit.

I will pay $500,000 to a group of Independents – that are highly publicly visible if that group of 50 persons will outperform 50 members of Anon in a proper IQ test.

In fact, I challenge Amy Scoobee, Nancy Many, Marty, Jim, Mike and Mike’s wife to take an official IQ test and an SAT in the next month.

If they can beat 6 members of Anon that I will randomly chose, I will go to the Shrine Auditorium and streak in front of DM.

    the bet is on.

Wait to you see how fucking stupid and retarded these tossers really are.

  7. Holy crap Aaron. Glad to see your still being vocal. Wall of text is a good read.

  8. This is a point not made often enough:

“They never left Scientology thinking. They just walked away from the abuse. They never understood what really happened or why they were duped.”

Thanks, Aaron. It’s good to hear your voice again.

  9. Aaron, what’s the story with the Aussies? I thought they were ex-Scientologists, not independents or FZers.

  10. RE to Gene: A lot of holocaust deniers also love to claim Hitler had no idea about the final solution, nor did he order it. Somehow they believe Hitler was totally clueless to the enormous system of concentration and extermination camps running throughout German Occupied Territory.

The holocaust denier’s excuses and overall mentality reminds me a lot of of the Scientology indies’ excuses and whitewashing of LRH – all be it on a much smaller scale of evil. (Don’t want to go into Godwin’s Law territory here after all).

  11. Someone asked me about the ex’s in aussie.

It is impossible for me to tell you what they think – I can only judge by actions.

Carmel Underwood kept all her Scn materials which I found fascinating at her house. why do that? They weren’t in boxes either, they were displayed front and center of all her books. there was a complete lack of other materials relating to anything one might think someone would read who was interesting in finding out what really happened to them.

She was also off finding other answers to religion/spirituality but again, no books written by real authors, just hocus pocus stuff.

Then there was Kevin Mackey. He said on Tv “Scientolgoy is the art of self delusion”. And when the reporter asked us all if we thought any Scn was real we all answered “no”. Later, he stated Scn is OK, and if it “goes wild” that is Ok with him – just as long as the Church doesn’t control it. Those are not the words of a person who has come to the conclusion through knowledge and understanding that Scn is what it really is.

I doubt he spent any time actually researching Scn or the mind or the brain or anything.

The other one I had something to do with was Shiela Huber – she was all for Marty Rathbun and this included using Scn outside of the Church.

    Sad stuff.

Remember, most of these guys who went on the attack did so for the following reasons:

    a. Financial Loss.
    b. Revenge.
    c. Despise of the Sea Org.

Almost no ex-Scientologists I have met ever did any of the following:

    a. Knew LRH was a con and a liar, and a saddistic bastard.
    b. Researched where Scn came from.
    c. Researched Science to discover PROOF that Scientology lied.
    d. Accepted observation as a logical tool for proof which it is not, thus “proof” scientology or the “church” didn’t work was based on observable results – which is totally unscientific and proves nothing.

I attacked after completing an evaluation period that lasted from 1998 through to 2003-2005. I wasn’t prepared to attack anything until I knew jolly well why it didn’t work and what was the con.

At that point, yes, revenge was the major driving force behind what I did. But at least when I attacked I knew what to attack and why. Now most ex’s that attack the Church are doing so because they were told to, or think that they know why, but few really do. To members of Anon, who actually have have brains and get educated, they know why Scn is bad and attack with a rational reasoning behind them.

I would imagine this is why in reality why few ex-Scios, especially ex-SO members get a long with Anon. It has got nothing to do with the fight, it has got everything to do with the fact that Anon laugh at Scn believers and pity them, while most of the Ex’s WANT pity for what they went through. Which is kind of sick.

They don’t man up. They don’t actualy talk about what THEY did wrong, ebcause in their fucked up minds, what they did was “OK” because in their minds th emotivation was OK, which makes it OK.

Number of Ex’s that apologized for bankrupting their fellow friends: ZERO
Number of Ex’s that have said sorry for having their children and friend’s children not get educated: ZERO
Number of Ex’s that said sorry for routing their fellow man into a trap?: Near ZERO
Number of ex-SO that actually admit to their own crimes: Almost ZERO.

they claim to be “confronting” the Church. Bullshit. Most are happy to find a target in the church. If LRH were alive today, they would probabyl go give him a hug and tell him to “Fix Scientology”.

  12. what do freezoners think/say about the xenu story how can they still follow scientology after hearing about this story??? even some high profile ex scientologists have addmitted it being part of there”training” and not just some scifi story lrh made up are they really just in denial???

  13. Aaron, thanks for the insights about the Aussie exes. Why do you think you have been able to do what you’ve done that others haven’t done? What is it about you that made it possible?

  14. The aussie ex’s did a great thing.

I did mine and it happened at the same time. Other people will judge what my actions resulted in and what their actions resulted in.

If there was one thing differently that I did, then others would have to say what that was. It would be difficult for me to be objective towards my own actions.

What others have told me that was different is that I stood up and said what I did, rather than what “they did” and because I communicated very personal matters in my tapes, protests and TV recordings, I was able to enlighten others as to the real mindset of a Sea Org member and the difficulty in being humane when in the Sea Org.

Personally I think I gave too much information out – it resulted in everything being laid down bare for all to see – sort of like I felt like I had no clothes on. But I always knew a truthful approach to bringing about a Scn/Sea Org demise was always going to require that level of “tell everything” but having said that, now that is has past, it is personally disturbing to find those details about my life on Wiki and on youtube for anyone to see for the next 50 years. If I ever have children, they will know more about me and my past than I would normally tell my lover.

I gave up privacy to enjoy the taste of seeing the Sea Org squirm, lose millions, lose people and to lose their fictional reputation as a religion.

    It was worth it.

As for the part about LRH and the Xenu story, yes, it does form part of training. There are references outside of OT III that allude to it, heavily and in some parts makes direct references. It is not denial that makes us not question, it is the brainwashing beforehand that makes sure we just never question anything. Once that is achieved, Scientologists will believe anything at all said by LRH, no matter how silly.

“The blind will see again”. Marty wears glasses. Is addicted to cigarettes and is the show-case of total failure of any worthwhile tech. Then again, the one thing Marty, LRH, some Scn celebs, ex-high profile Scios and Sea Org members and DM have in common with themselves and their families is suicides, murders and mental conditions – like smoking, drinking and drugs – all after exposure to Scientology. Wonderful stuff Scientology.

Scientology is literally the blind leading the blind and being in the Sea Org is no different. they all accepted bullshit from adults that do nothing but fucking lie.

While I never have actually seen Pluto, I can be confident that it exists because trusted people in Science and the community who believe betterment is a social responsibility rather than a commercial enterprise can be trusted with facts. Scientologists can not, ever because fact is only established through the belittment and discredit of anyone who opposes, and the facts are of no consequence.

Remember that when dealing with Scios in and out of the Church. they can’t THINK, yet they think they are better at thinking than anyone else. History by facts and not opinion proves otherwise. But that means nothing to them – facts are the tools of enemies and SPs.

It is hard to believe right now that a Sea Org member in RTC is reading this – perhaps one fo the 5 RTC Inspectors I personally recruited, yet he or she knows that no where in any FO or reference or in the LRH Life Exhibition is there any reference to MSH going to jail, Ron’s son being murdered or his other son disowning him. At yet they march on. Scary stuff. These guys trusted me, and now they think everything we say out here is all lies, and they are shown false documents and will never go to a court and see what the lawyers in Scn ACTUALLY put forward which is why they lose their cases. I could go on, but they are beyond our reach, sadly. Let’s home DM starts instigating more executions and they run away scared. If they can’t be reasoned with, perhaps they can be scared out fo that hell-hole they call the Sea Org.

Let DM stay there. Only a few more deaths and destroyed families and we may see an internal rebellion. They will not be free mentally, but at least they will be within reach of help.

  15. A question for Aaron: What do you make of metapsychology/TIR (David Mayo’s offshoot). It seems to rely heavily on the probably sound psycho-analytical material that Hubbard ripped off and tried to pass off as his own. Or is this also largely useless?

  16. ex-scn - staff - S.O.

It has been reported that David Mayo did lot of work with him on ot’s level!
It is reported that Mary sue Hubbar did a tremendous work .
It his reported that some of his work come from a mix of other therapies and work from people in the field of black magic and hypnosis!

But – never he gave the credit to these people or such work – he represented himself as the western reincarnation of the buddha

(comme on – i can’t count the number of times that I had to confront and not laugh when scientologists where talking in front of me about Ron – Being The Bouddha reincarnation ….so stupid!
Great Bouddha – known to be smoking like hell – yelling to people – throwing his food on the wall when got mad – sometimes drinking – taking strong drugs – collecting a huge amout of money and hide it to overseas bank accounts – take advantage of slave free labor – abusing children – persecuting little 4-5 years old and lock them into the chainlocker – …Wow…what a buddha!

This is what I’ve read and heard from true and reliable multiple testimony of whitnesses! Only Mr rathbun and Rinder are silent about Ron Hubbard!

Please do not insult buddhism – ! ;D

  17. A question for Aaron: What do you make of metapsychology/TIR (David Mayo’s offshoot). It seems to rely heavily on the probably sound psycho-analytical material that Hubbard ripped off and tried to pass off as his own. Or is this also largely useless?

Answer: I have not studied David Mayo’s materials. So i would not know and it would not be fair to make an assumption about something I have not read about.
